Made in Australia and NZ. A quality product using the best materials, proven design, and a commitment to the highest standards.
Waterproof. This is measured by a hydrostatic head test whereby we test the amount of water required under pressure to penetrate the fabric. These test results are expressed as a minimum and not as a maximum as some other companies would advise. "Bradmill Canvas", for example has a hydrostatic head test result of 400mm (minimum) which is the correct balance to stop the most fierce storm from penetrating the fabric to keep you safe and dry.
5 Year Guarantee. Speaks for itself.
3 Way Window. This feature is available on most touring tents. The advantages are that the clear external PVC window allows light to enter the tent, yet still keeps out the rain. The PVC window can also be rolled up or pegged out depending on weather conditions. The internal mesh allows adequate ventilation and the canvas flap covering the mesh offers complete privacy.

Large Sleeve. The large sleeve on the Wagon Tourers provides plenty of size for large 4WD vehicles.
Coolabah Canvas. Coolabah is the highest quality, light-medium weight, blended polyester/cotton tent fabric available. Coolabah is a very tightly constructed fabric as it is woven from fine yarn counts. The material is designed specifically for higher quality tents. 750mm hydrostatic test rating. Canvas made in Australia. Not as breathable as bradmill canvas . See 'Choosing your Tent' for more canvas info.
Bradmill Canvas. Years of experience as Australia's leading manufacturer of tent fabrics have resulted in Bradmill's fabric achieving the ideal balance of efficient waterproofing for the harshest conditions while allowing the fabric to breathe, for your overall comfort. "Bradmill" has a hydrostatic head test result of 400mm (minimum) which is the correct balance to stop the most fierce storm from penetrating the fabric, keeping you safe and dry.

Bradmill uses a process of forcing the waterproofing in under pressure giving you a more stable waterproofing and a more breathable fabric. This process is known as a pregnated waterproofing process . Most other fabric use just a coated waterproofing which can wear off and will cause condensation problems . See 'Choosing your Tent' for more canvas info.
Ripcheck Canvas. Ripcheck is a tough composition of a 65/35 polyester cotton mix with the additional matrix of ripstop threads. This feature alone gives it superior tear and tensile strength versus other tent fabrics. Ripcheck is proofed by a unique process that impregnates each individual thread allowing the canvas to breath while still remaining waterproof. See 'Choosing your Tent' for more canvas info.
Double Layer Roof. Freedom Tourer tents are built using robust double layer 12 ounce & 10 ounce canvas roofs. This gives the additional strength and wears capabilities needed in touring style tents. Camper use a 8oz roof
Metal Chromed "D" Ring Pegging Points & Dual Corner Webbing. In addition to internally sewn seams, Freedom touring tents feature double webbing attached to metal "D" rings at each corner. Double webbing distributes the tension between two distinct pulling lines at right angles to each other and prevents seam opening. An added benefit is that in the unfortunate event of one of the webbing should break, the tent can still be erected using the other one.
The metal "D" ring is purposely designed as a "D" ring and not an "O" ring to ensure that the weight is evenly distributed, thus extending the life of the webbing.

Fire Retardant. Remember, nothing is fire proof but our tents will not sustain a flame by themselves.
Insect/Reptile Proof Fully Zipped "D" Zip Door Design with Internal Mesh Window. The major advantage is that the "D" door allows the door to be folded to the side for ease of entry. The disadvantage of a "U" hanging door is that unless it is rolled up the door retracts entry and can be easily damaged.
Internal Frame. Suitable for all tents that uses a centre pole. The internal frame is easy to assemble and allows freedom of movement without the restriction of the centre pole.
Ultrafine Sandfly-proof Mesh. Freedom Tourer tents utilises UV stabilised PVC coated Ultra-fine fibreglass mesh. This mesh has two outstanding features. Firstly being ultra-fine, it is not only fly and mosquito proof, but also sandfly proof with is important when camping in sandfly infested areas. Secondly the mesh is fire retardant. If a spark should land on the mesh, the PVC coating may burn off but the fibreglass structure of the mesh remains undamaged and therefore the mesh continues to work.
Internal Pocket. Ideal for car keys, glasses and torches. Solves the problem of lost belongings.
Dual Zip Slides on Door for Power Cord Access. Allows easy access for 12 volt or 240 volt lighting.
Heavy Duty Pvc Floor with Heat Welded Seams. All "Tourer" tents feature Heavy Duty heat welded PVC floors. The heat welding of seams increases waterproofs on tents this means there is no stitching at ground level avoiding seam leakage common on most tents.
Full length Zippered Storm Flap on Door. This prevents wind and weather blowing in under the flap.
Roll-up Tent. The roof frame can be removed in minutes and reassembled just as easily. This allows the tent to be rolled into a compact size for ease of storage when space is a premium.

Internally Bound Floor to Wall Seams (French Seams). All Freedom touring tents have the walls secured to the floor using internally sewn seams. There are two main reasons for this. Firstly, any rain falling on the tent freely runs to the ground with little chance of pooling and subsequent leaking. This is a common problem when the wall and floor seams are sewn externally. Secondly, there is no flooring material exposed to the elements. Some tent manufacturers utilise a method of extending the flooring material for about 15 centimetres up the wall of the tent. This is known as a mud wall. This allows the sun's ultraviolet rays to beam onto the poly or pvc type substance of the floor eventually breaking it down. There is also more stress at the point where the floor and the wall are sewn to the side of the tent, which can result in seam leakage at a later date.
Side Windows. Bringing you the comfort of ventilation.
Spring Loaded Centre Pole for Ease of Assembly and added Stability in Heavy Wind . Freedom touring tents feature a unique Spring Loaded Centre Pole. This means that the centre pole is not fixed but moves in unison with the wind. The result is the buffeting effects of the wind are absorbed within the pole taking the tension off the ground pegs. Tents utilising the Spring Loaded Centre Pole are virtually impossible to blow down. Just ask Freedom Tent users. A conventional telescopic pole is rigid once the tent is pitched. Continual buffeting from the wind can result in corner pegs pulling out of the ground and the tent collapsing.

"YKK" Branded Heavy Zips. YKK zips are recognised as the most reliable zips, which is why Freedom uses only 10 grade YKK zips on the doors and windows. If a manufacturer is not using genuine YKK zips it means that they are prepared to compromise on quality on zips and therefore quality overall. Look for the letters YKK on the zip. "Your guarantee of quality." (mix of 5 and 10 Grade zips on doors and windows of all cabin and campers)
Zip-round Windows. This system is available on all Touring Tents with the exception of the Outback Tourer. The zip round windows prevent dust or rain blowing in under the flap as they close completely.
